St. Cyril of Alexandria

Feast Day: July 10

St. Cyril of Alexandria, the 24th Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church, was a brilliant theologian and fierce defender of the Orthodox faith. His leadership at the Council of Ephesus helped affirm the title of Theotokos (Mother of God) for the Virgin Mary, defending the true doctrine of the Incarnation. He is remembered as one of the most important Church Fathers and a pillar of Coptic theology.
