St. Philip's Apostolic Road to Knowledge (SPARK) is a Family Service designed to help families become fully integrated into the life of the Coptic Orthodox Church. It is a unique opportunity for both adults and children to grow in their faith together through worship, learning, and community.

  • For Children: Young ones actively participate in the Divine Liturgy, including opportunities to serve at the sanctuary. They also enjoy a Saturday School program tailored to their age group, helping them learn the faith in an engaging and meaningful way.

  • For Parents: Adults benefit from spiritual lessons in English with translation into Tigrinya, covering topics such as catechism, sacraments, communion, church history, and the Holy Scriptures.

This service not only deepens spiritual understanding but also strengthens the bonds of community within the Church. Families who attend consistently share how enriching the experience is for both parents and children.

St. Philip the Apostle

Feast Day: March 27

St. Philip was one of the Twelve Apostles and an early missionary filled with zeal. He preached in Samaria and was guided by the Holy Spirit to baptize the Ethiopian eunuch, a key moment in the expansion of Christianity beyond Jewish communities. His faithful obedience to divine prompting and Scripture made him a true apostle to the nations.

Did You Know?

After baptizing the Ethiopian eunuch, he was miraculously transported by the Holy Spirit to another city to continue preaching (Acts 8:39–40).
